I liked her better when she was heavier. I keep trying to show my 4 year old sister “That’s So Raven” because she has darker skin than me (she has a different father) and all the other shows she watches feature stick-thin white girls. I want my sister to grow up without that pressure; without feeling like you should look like the people on TV. One day, she even asked my older sister, “When am I going to be your color?” She’s young; she doesn’t understand all of the natural differences yet. I struggled with self-image as I was growing up and I don’t want her to feel the same thing I did.

I’ve always loved Raven. I liked her better when she was heavier.
